Fleur Drive Medians
As the road that connects the Des Moines Airport to downtown Des Moines, Fleur Drive has been called the city’s “welcome mat.” The 17 flower-filled Fleur Drive medians between Gray’s Lake and the airport have long been a way to create a positive and beautiful first impression of the city. As Des Moines grows and visiting travels have increased, this has never been more true.
6 of the 17 planters have currently been refurbished with new irrigation and drainage systems to make ongoing maintenance and associated traffic flow easier and better. We’re supporting efforts to complete this renovation project by raising $250,000 to complete the final 11 medians.
